Emma Kile Member of National Championship Team

2011 Nov 14

On Saturday, November 12, the Clearwater Christian College women's volleyball team captured their sixth national title at the NCCAA Division II National Championships held in Kissimmee, FL. The Lady Cougars defeated Ozark Christian College in three straight sets in the final game. They continued their domination of the NCCAA II level by closing out the 2011 season without dropping a set to their NCCAA II opponents in season play. The CCC team has not lost a NCCAA II match since 2005.

Emma Kile of Butler, PA plays as a middle and outside hitter for the Cougars. Kile is a senior Elementary Education major at CCC and a graduate of Calvary Academy in Butler, PA. She is the daughter of Jared and Eileen Kile of Butler, PA.

According to Coach Denny, "The fact that we had a balanced attack helped us during the national tournament. We were able to run a lot of different plays on offense because of good passing and digging across the board." The Cougars defeated Ozark in three straight sets to win their sixth consecutive NCCAA II National Championship Title and the 11th national title since 1995.

Located on a 138-acre property on Tampa Bay, Clearwater Christian College is home to over 500 undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a distinct Christian education in a traditional liberal arts environment.
