Alicyn Bradley Member of Clearwater Christian College Mission Team to Haiti

2013 May 7

On May 6, a group of CCC students and faculty left for a ten-day mission trip to Haiti. With hopes of reaching the Haitian people for Christ, their ministry opportunities will include Vacation Bible School, tutoring sessions, Bible lessons, and assistance with work projects and sports in association with an established ministry in the country.

Alicyn Bradley of Middleburg, FL is a member of the Haiti Summer Missions Team. Alicyn is a graduate of St Johns River State College in Palataka, FL, and a junior Elementary Education major at Clearwater Christian College. The daughter of Anthony and Sharon Bradley of Middleburg, FL, she is looking forward to ministering to the Haitian people.

Faculty sponsor Phil Golson said, "The Haiti Team seeks to serve the EBAC Ministry and its co-founders, Ms. Wise and Ms. Gouker, by providing tutelage in ACE curriculum schooling, daily vacation Bible school, evangelism and discipleship, and work projects on the Cap Haitien orphanage property. The team will also have opportunities to worship alongside fellow believers in area church gatherings. It is the team's desire to learn, even as we teach; to take in, even as we pour out; and to grow in our relationship with Christ by seeing the Gospel work in areas outside our own."

"I am very excited to go because this is my first mission trip," said junior Elementary Education major, Alicyn Bradley. As a group, the team has been discussing cultural servanthood and how to serve within a foreign culture. "Many people go on mission trips with a goal to help the people, thinking we have all the answers, but we approach it from our perspective, not the natives. I am hoping that God will use this trip to let me see how others feel and think, and to be sensitive to the actual needs of others, not what I think they need. My constant prayer for this trip is that God will use me despite my shortcomings to bring glory to Him in any way He chooses. I am the vessel and He is the Master," said Alicyn.

Located on a 138-acre property on Tampa Bay, Clearwater Christian College is home to over 500 undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a distinct Christian education in a traditional liberal arts environment. Clearwater Christian College is recognized by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
