Clearwater Christian College won the NCCAA II South Region Championship, defeating Point University 1-0 in front of a huge crowd of Cougar supporters at Glen Oaks Park. The Cougars will advance to the NCCAA National Tournament in Kissimmee, Florida, on November 9-12.
Ben Holmes of Bowie, MD was a member of the 2011 Championship team. Holmes is a freshman Bible major and is a midfielder for the Cougars. Holmes is a graduate of Bowie High School in Bowie, MD and the son of Kevin and Patricia Holmes of Bowie, MD.
The South Region Championship was the third straight for the Cougars and will allow them to advance to the NCCAA National Tournament where they will go for their third straight national championship. The Cougars will be the #5 seed and will face #4 Manhattan Christian College.
