2012 Aug 29

On Sunday, August 26, the Cantorum, a highly competitive singing group from Clearwater Christian College, was invited to participate in the Faith & Freedom Coalition's rally at the Tampa Theatre starting off the opening weekend of the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida.

Elizabeth Earley from Lutz, FL, was selected to participate in the event. CCC was invited to sing by Ralph Reed, founder of the organization. Elizabeth is the daughter of William Lutz of Southhampton, PA, and Susan Earley of Lutz, FL.

"I was thrilled with the experience," said Dr. Pattye Casarow, director of the Cantorum. "It went very well. The audience roared with applause and appreciation. I'm so thankful to the Lord that our students can enjoy these very special types of opportunities that will be lifetime memories."

The Cantorum, consisting of students and alumni, sang a trio of patriotic songs that included I Hear America Singing by Andre Thomas, Who Are the Brave by Joseph Martin, and Patriot's Honor by Matt McMorris.

Special guests at the Faith and Freedom Coalition rally included former U.S. Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, and U.S. Senate candidate Ted Cruz of Texas among others.
